Frequently Asked Questions
How it Works for Project Owners
Okay, I've got a job and I need it done, what do I do?
Click on the Submit Your Job link and post your project. For verification purposes we'll send you an email containing a link which needs to be visited.
Is this really a free service?
Yes. Of course you'll need to pay the worker should you accept them to complete your job. All we ask in return is that if you rate the worker so other customers in future may have a better understanding of their performance. To rate a worker you will need to accept that particular worker's bid online.
Once I start receiving quotes, am I under any obligation to accept one of them?
No, if you aren't happy with the bids or the workers aren't exactly what you are looking for you are under no obligation at all to accept the bids.
I have found a worker on your site which I am going to accept to do a job, is there anything I should be aware of?
You should always ask your worker for a few client references and make sure you follow these references up.
If it's building work for instance then check to see whether the worker has the correct qualifications, certificates etc and that they have previous experience doing that particular type of job.
Ask them who will be doing the job, will it be them or a sub contractor?
If they can't do the job straight away then make sure that the amount they bid for will not rise. Remember to get them to break down the price so you know what you are paying for.
Get a contract written up, stating when the job is due to be completed, when work starts etc. Also don't pay too much money up front - be aware that disputes can happen between a worker and project owner.
How it Works for Workers
It looks like a great idea but how much will it cost me?
You can list yourself for free on the WorkBidder website, we'll put together a profile for you. With a profile users who visit the website will be able to read a little about you and can contact you easily if you supply a phone number, mobile number or alternative website. All this for free.
There are also job listings on the site which you can respond to. There are two different types:
- "Connection by Message" - which is a free service in most parts of the UK however in London in the trades/building area there is a fee. Connection by Message allows you to correspond with project owners who post jobs which need to be responded to via online. Although there are many jobs in this service which also include trades/building too, this service is targetted at all other jobs where the worker usually doesn’t need to visit a location to enter a quote.
- "Connection by Telephone" - this is targetted mainly at the trades/building workers. It is a pay-per-lead service - if you like a job then you pay for the lead. What's great about WorkBidder is that we only sell a very limited number of leads per job so it increases your chances. The most ever is four but on average it's less. Leads usually cost one credit and each credit can be purchased from £4 when buying in a pack of 10. When you have purchased the lead we will give you the name of the contact and their phone number. We can even SMS you alerts to your mobile phone in case you aren't online very often.
Why should I register with your site?
Not only will you be placed into our online directory you'll also receive a link to your website which could help with Google rankings, a profile page with information written by you, a place for a few numbers so customers can call you directly.
You'll also be able to use our "Connection by Message" and "Connection by Telephone" services. You can increase your business using any of our services. Why pay for an expensive advertising campaigns which may generate zero interest when you can just use WorkBidder and pay for leads which interest you. It's great value. Try and see what difference it makes to your business.
